Ayn al-Quzat : Color

This short verse by Ayn al-Quzat Hamadani might make readers think of the tale posted here. For more about the poet, see this earlier post.

He Who splashed a thousand worlds with color
How can He buy the paint of “I and thou”?
Colors, colors — nothing but whim and fantasy;
HE is colorless, and one must adopt His hue.

Translation Peter Lamborn Wilson and Nasrollah Pourjavady
