Baba Afzal : All He

Baba Afzal al-din Kashani (d. ca. 1214 CE) was a respected philosopher and poet who lived in the Kashan region of Iran. Little is known about his personal life, although it is said that he was imprisoned for a time under a charge of committing sorcery. His often ecstatic writing had a significant influence on Persian literature.

My hearing, sight, my tongue and hand: all He.
Then I am not, for all that is, is He.
I think I am, and thought is but a dream.
When I awake, all that remains is He.

Translation by Peter Lamborn Wilson and Nasrollah Pourjavady
