Bedil : If you stop your scatteredness

For some background on the Mughal poet and Sufi known as Bedil Dehlvi, see this post.

If you stop your scatteredness
and collect yourself
like a rose you will perfume the orchard

Though the Beloved’s Face
may be hidden from you
by nature you were created to mirror That

you who are the center
of the compass of Truth
someday will realize that you are Present
in all directions all at once
if from sundry directions
you withdraw your scattered heart
