In een eerdere Han Shan-Call joeg de wind van verlangen de golven van de geest op. Nu ligt de vraag dichterbij: wat herkennen we in wat voor ons ligt?
Han Shan raapt op wat de oogsters over het hoofd zagen of verwierpen. Hun manden blijven leeg: zij herkenden hun Buddha Nature niet.
“Het oor dat hoort en het oog dat ziet, de HEER heeft ze beide gemaakt.” — Spreuken 20:12
Jezus vraagt:

Pir Nawab, can you share a bit about the ‘Buddha Nature’ he alludes to? The phrasing makes it clear that they had Buddha Nature, looked at it and did not recognise it.
Lots to think about here… How many times have I failed to pick something up and put it in my basket, because it was ‘not quite’ what my linear mind was hoping to find or experience?
Dear Howard, thank you for the kind suggestion. Perhaps there is a post waiting to be written one the subject. But if, instead of Buddha nature, we were to say ‘truth,’ it might be more comprehensible to the ‘non-Buddhist’ student. Truth is never absent – how could it be? Yet very few grasp it, and those who overlook it ultimately live in poverty no matter how wealthy they may appear.
