Mahsati : The pathway finally opened

Mahsati Ganjavi was a 12th c. Persian poet who is said to have been an associate of Omar Khayyam, and the Seljuk sultan Sanjar. Virtually nothing is known about her life, except that she was born in Ganja, and was esteemed as a poet in the court of Sanjar.

When my heart came to rule
in the world of love,
it was freed
from both belief
and from disbelief.

On this journey,
I found the problem
to be myself.

When I went beyond myself,
the pathway finally opened.
