Tales : Bahlool and the Gravedigger’s Wife

It happened once upon a time that Bahlool, the one who was known as a lunatic, was sitting in the cemetery with only the company of a stray dog, when he saw a woman come and stand by a recently dug grave.

She stopped and prayed there. After the woman finished Bahlool approached her, and asked, “Whose grave is it?”

“That of my husband,” she replied. “Please pray for him, he had many sins to his name.”

“What was his profession?” Bahlool asked.

“A grave digger,” the woman replied.

“A grave digger!” Bahlool repeated, casting his eyes to heaven. “How blind is man. A grave digger who did not realize where he was going!”
