News has come that a long time mureed and diligent worker for the Message has left this world. Sharif Munawwir Graham, who was aged 81, was a mureed of Pir Vilayat Khan, and worked for many years with the Nekbakht Foundation in Suresnes, helping to edit the majority of the ‘Complete Works’ volumes. This intensive education gave him an encyclopaedic knowledge of the life and work of Hazrat Inayat Khan, and one of his personal accomplishments was to make a pilgrimage to all the places in India where Hazrat Inayat had been. The news of Sharif’s passing comes as a particular shock to visitors to this year’s Urs celebration at the Dargah, where just recently Sharif shared some historical details about the last days of Hazrat Inayat Khan in New Delhi. The video clip below offers a brief portion of his talk.
We offer sincere condolences to the family, friends and fellow mureeds of Sharif. May his labour in the service of Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan and the Message be rewarded and may his journey home be easy and swift.
