Khwajah Abdullah Ansari (1006-1088 CE) was a Persian Sufi who lived in Khorosan, now Herat in Afghanistan.  

Oh, Allah,
I call upon You;
You open the hearts towards prayer.
You bring love and devotion in the solitude of Your servants.
You glorify the breath of those who keep Your secrets.
My only friend is Your remembrance.
My  only thought is to honor Your presence.
My only guide toward You is You.
I address You, the Divine;
You are the rememberer and the remembered,
You are the reason of all being.
Only You deserve to remember Yourself;
Who deserves such grandeur except You?
