It happened once upon a time that Mullah Nasruddin went walking with some friends to the top of a high cliff, where the view was very inspiring. As they admired the beauty spread out before them, Nasruddin, perhaps feeling exalted by the vast open space, missed his footing and fell over the edge.
The horrified group rushed to look down, expecting to see the body of the Mullah shattered on the rocks below, but somehow, by the grace of the Almighty, he fell into the spreading branches of a large tree.
Hurrying down to find what was left of their friend, they discovered Nasruddin lying at the foot of the tree, very bruised and battered but alive.
“Nasruddin,” they scolded, as they helped him up. “Do you think that wearing the turban of a mullah means you should know how to fly?”
“I assure you, flying is easy,” said Nasruddin. “Anyone can do it. It is coming back to earth that is difficult.”
