Wuman Huikai (1183–1260 CE) was a Chinese Chan Buddhist master, remembered for having compiled and commented on the 48 koan collection, “The Gateless Barrier.”

The Great Way has no gate,
A thousand roads enter it.
When one passes through this gateless gate,
He freely walks between heaven and earth.
