It happened once upon a time that Mullah Nasruddin gave a speech in which he told the people assembled there about Jesus, and said that Jesus was living in heaven.

Hearing this, one old woman became very curious. ‘This Jesus,’ she said, ‘ what does he eat in heaven?’

Her question made Nasruddin angry. He had been staying in the village for nearly a month, and no one had yet offered him food. ‘Foolish woman,’ Nasruddin said, ‘why do you ask what Jesus eats in heaven when you can’t remember to ask what Mullah Nasruddin eats on the earth?’
